40 Hours Devotion - Eucharistic Revival

Join the Mission deanery in their 40 Hours Devotion before the Blessed Sacrament. The opening Mass is at 7 PM on Thursday, January 5 and the concluding Mass is at 10 PM on Saturday, January 7.


What is the Forty Hours Devotion?
The Forty Hours Devotion is an opportunity to gather as a community before the Blessed Sacrament and to pray before the Lord in solemn adoration. It gives us time to deepen our appreciation of the importance of the mystery of the eucharist in our lives. Traditionally it begins with a celebration of Mass. At the end of this opening Mass the Blessed Sacrament is exposed and over a period of a few days the faithful are given the opportunity to assemble in prayer before the exposed Blessed Sacrament. The form of prayer to be prayed can be done in diverse ways. The celebration then will end with the celebration of Mass.

¿Qué es la Devoción de las Cuarenta Horas?
La Devoción de las Cuarenta Horas es una ocasión para reunirse como comunidad frente al Santísimo Sacramento y orar ante el Señor en solemne adoración. Nos brinda una oportunidad para profundizar nuestra apreciación de la importancia del misterio de la Eucaristía en nuestras vidas. Tradicionalmente comienza con una misa.  Al final de esta misa de apertura se expone al Santísimo Sacramento y durante unos días los fieles tienen la oportunidad de reunirse en oración ante el Santísimo Sacramento expuesto. Hay varias formas de oración que se pueden utilizar. La Devoción de las Cuarenta Horas generalmente concluye con una misa.
